MIC

Project 2
Project Overview
MIC is a cloud-based software that helps Court Appointed Special Advocates, or (CASAs), manage clerical tasks so that they can better support children involved in (CHINS) cases—those are kids identified as being in need of services due to neglect, abuse, or other unsafe situations.
Project Goals
The goals for this project is to refine and finalize the MIC platform’s design to improve CASA volunteers' efficiency in managing case documentation and clerical tasks, building on previous semesters' research. This project is less research focused and more of the finalization of the platform.
Problem Space
The MIC platform currently has inefficiencies in report writing and case management that make it difficult for CASA volunteers to focus on supporting children.
Project Activities Overview
One of the first activities that was done for this project was to perform a comparative analysis on different companies that have a management/admin features. This is an example of me taking note of Slack's administration software to analyze what could be utilized for the MIC software. An audit was additionaly done on the previous team's work to take in any infromation that was neccesary from the last team's work.
After usability testing with previous and potential MIC users, rounds of sketching were involved to improve the home page to maximize efficiency and eliminate as much click as possible.
After sketeches were complete, we had a final round of sketching to refine the design to prepare it for implementation into wirerfames.
Multiple user flows were additionally constructed to have a defined route for multiple users to ensure that no areas in the site were left uncovered.
